Catch the Bug Challenge - Anything Goes

Morning!  Today over at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog the Saturday challenge is "anything goes".

All you have to do is make a project and link it by 12/11/10 at 6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs - seven (7) (using a Bugaboo image only), four (4), or two (2) using any image!  Don't forget to use a Bugaboo image and you can win the top prize!  You can find a freebie from Jodie here.

While on vacation we went to a store and I found those cute Cuttlebug folders that you can use on an edge of a card.  My only word of caution those is to becareful if you use them directly on your card.  I did that and now my edges are really flimsy and my card wouldn't stand up.  I also used some more of my BoBunny and of course my Stickles.

I've entered this card into the following challenges:
~Eat Sleep Stamp #110 - sketchy Thursday
~The Crazy Challenge #43 - on the go (anything goes)
~Tuesday Throwdown #27 - embellish it
~Top Tip Tuesday #12 - anything goes

Also, please leave some of the other DT some love...they are incredible!!!

Supplies: Stamps: Bugaboo; Paper: BoBunny; Other: Copics, Stickles, PTI Ribbon, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Folder, BoBunny Brads, and Inking.

Good Morning!  Did anyone go Black Friday Shopping???  We went to Kmart Thanksgiving morning and then a couple of places last night but before we went home we decided to try Toys R Us.  First we had to park across the street and then on the way up there someone told us that they were only letting 50 people and the wait would be 3-4 hrs....so we left.  I usually do most of my shopping online anyway.

Today is a great day to do some online because Jodie has these totally adorable Snowmen in her shop and it's still 50% off for a few more days.

I finally used some of my Basic Grey paper that I've had sitting on my dryer for almost a year, lol (I totally forgot it was there).  I also used some of my buttons and of course my stickles.

Tutorial Wednesday at Bugaboo

Morning!  Over at the Bugaboo Challenge Blog on Wednesday's each DT member takes turns creating a tutorial and since I'm the GDT member for November today is my turn.

This is a very quick and easy project that you could put on your desk or even give as a present.  I think the total time it took was maybe an hour.

The supplies you will need are:
~a tin with a window or even one of those plain boxes that you could cut out a window
~picture of your favorite person
~a Bugaboo image
~your favorite paper and embellishments

~First: Your're going to put the piece of paper inside the tin to cover the bottom.  I flipped the tin over and measured the size from the bottom.  I didn't try to cover the entire bottom of the tin because I didn't want to get frustrated trying to make it perfect.

~Second: You can put your paper and picture inside the tin and any embellishments that you would like to add.  Since I am working with a small tin I didn't put any embellishments inside but I have a bigger tin at work that I did add embellishments to (I'll try and remember to bring it home from work today and post a pic).

~Third: I measured the smooth outside of the tin so I could wrap a piece of my favorite paper around it.  I also added some ribbon.

~Fouth: I colored one of my favorite images from Bugaboo (I love penguins), cut it out, and pop dotted it to the front.

~Fifth: I added a couple more embellishments and voila I'm done~

Supplies: Stamp: Bugaboo; Paper: MME; Copics: G85, RV23, RV29, R20, R39, YR18, BG01, BG15, C1, C7; Other: Spare Part Buttons and Ribbon.

I also entered this into several challenges:
~Bee Craft #42 - Christmas
~Lexi's Creations #26 - anything goes
~Stamps R Us #8- buttons & bows
~Paper Sundaes #43- let it snow
~Ann's Creative Nook #111- recycle recycle
~The Crazy Challenge #40- things w/ wings

I really hope you liked my tutorial and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for joining me today!

New Release Tuesday at Bugaboo

Today is another great release over at Bugaboo!  If you love wizards you'll love these new releases...make sure you check out all the other great cards on the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog and leave them some love.  Jodie tries to have the images in her store by the time this posts but if not please check back later.

I wanted to make this a masculine card so I had to stay away from all my "pretty" paper.  I ended up using some cardstock and just running through my Cuttlebug.  I'm not sure where the color scheme came from but they are the colors of my high school (some 20 odd years ago).

Enjoy!

Here are a couple of challenges I entered:
~Crazy 4 Challenges #62 - square card

Supplies: Stamp: Bugaboo: Paper: PTI; Copics: Face: E000, E00, E97, R20; Hair: E00, E53, E55, E97; Clothes and Hat: C9, YR12, BV08; Other: SU Ribbon, Nestabilities, and Rhinestones.

Bugaboo DT Call

Bugaboo is having a DT Call...here are the details from their blog:

How Long Is the DT Call Open?
We are going to try something a little different this round. There are two rounds to our call.

1. Create a post and link it below. Post must include 1 Bugaboo project and 2 other of your favorite projects. Please note these can be new or older projects it is your choice. This phase of the call will be open until November 10th midnight EST. We will contact those who have been chosen to move on to round 2. Please make sure we have your email.

2 If you are chosen to continue to round 2, we will send you a predetermined image which you will make a project and turn back into us it would make things much quicker and give you more time to create if you make sure your email is in your post of the first round.

What Kind of Responsibilities Does the DT Have?
As a DT Member you would be required to take part in a minimum of 4 projects and a maximum of 6 assignments throughout the month. You will know all of the upcoming challenges and assignments and most can be worked on ahead of time.

Is It OK If I'm on Another DT?
Not to worry, as long as you can commit to the Bugaboo DT and are not conflicted with other DT work then of course feel free to apply, but please consider the new workload before you apply, the last thing we want is for you to struggle to keep up with the assignments, this is meant to be fun and stress free, not a job that you feel obliged to do, so again please do keep that in mind

What If I've Never Been on a DT Before?
Not a problem at all, we welcome all applications whether you have DT experience or not, in fact we would encourage peeps with no previous DT experience to try out for our Design Team, more so over those that do, we want to give everyone a fair chance

When Will the New DT Be Announced?
The new DT Members will be announced by November 29th. New Term officially begins on January 1, 2011.

Good Luck!
______________________________________________________________

I've only been working with them for a week but they are a bunch of fun Ladies and Paul.  I'm going to go for it so wish me good luck:)  My email is sunifla1@comcast.net  Below are my entries for the call:

Christmas Cards All Year Round August Challenge

Hi there!  I promise I haven't dropped off the face of the earth...it's just been a crazy summer.  My mother-in-law was here for a month, then we went to Toledo to see my family, and of course there was work.  I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things this weekend.

Here is the challenge over at Christmas Cards All Year Round:

Happy August Everyone! Can you believe we're about halfway through the summer? I hope it's been nice weather for you!

Here's our challenge for August.... Since many of us have had a lot of heat this summer, we're going to cool things down with SNOWFLAKES! Yes, as some of you guessed from the sneaks, your cards this month need to have snowflakes of some kind - in the paper, embellishments, stamping or whatever you like!

Here is the card I used:

VSD #4 - Challenge #5

I had a busy weekend so I could only make one more card and of course I had to make a Christmas card!

Here's are the details on Melanie's challenge:

Christmas in July (???)

Since we are just a few short days away from July I thought for our 5th challege we would do a Christmas in July theme.

So your challenge is to create a Christmas card. That is it, nothing special required. NVR, just please try to use a minimum of 1 stamped image on your card.

Have fun!!

Here's my card:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to make a couple more cards this week.

Have a good one!

VSD #4 - Challenge #2

Here is Challenge #2 from Melina:

Hello ladies!!!

Are we having fun yet?

Wasn't April's challenge great! I've never made one of those!

CHALLENGE #2
I've got a color challenge for you with a theme twist...

Your colors are:
Chocolate Chip
More Mustard
Old Olive
Basic gray
Very Vanilla

Now for the theme twist. I NEVER have masculine cards around when I need them. I'm not good at doing masculine either....so.....Make your creation with manly men in mind.

Also, use pewter or silver embellishments.

I never have masculine cards around either so I hope this fits the bill:)

VSD #4 - Challenge #1

The first challenge for this weekends VSD was to create a card made out of acetate. I didn't have acetate but I did have an acrylic tag so I used that. Here are the details to April's challenge:

Hello Ladies.....How is everyone today? I hope you are ready for your first challenge of our wonderful weekend VSD! I told you all you'd need acrylic or transparency sheets for my challenge because we are making acetate cards today!

Here is the tutorial on SCS~acetate card

If you need some more inspiration...as if mine isn't enough...lol...here is the gallery FULL of ideas~acetate gallery

This card can be any theme you want it to be and you can make it any way you want it. You don't even need to stamp on the acetate directly if you don't have the right kind of ink. Once you look through the gallery you will see many ideas and veriations on how to use this awesome stuff. Can I just say...I loved making this card and will surely be doing more of them!

Tips:
~if stamping directly onto the acetate....take your time and be very careful, if you use Staz-On ink other and opaque white the ink is very slippery on the acetate and will smear....keep a wipe or something handy to quickly wipe away your mistake and try again. The opaque white works pretty good though..it's a bit more sticky.
~don't use stickles on the acetate...I did as you can see here and when I folded the top down I hit the stickles and they literally popped right off so I had to do it again...so stickles are not friendly on this surface.
~have fun with it and try different things...it really is fun to work with and play around with. I really love the way my card came out (I don't brag very much about my work but this one...I love).

Here's my card:

Thanks for a great challenge April and thanks for looking!

At JMS the DT love our mums/moms and to show our appreciation for everything mothers do we are celebrating mothers in our blog hop this week.

The hop officially kicks off at 9 am (NFLD time zone), and ends at Midnight (NFLD time zone).

There are 18 stops along the way, some have blog candy up for grabs (but you'll have to find them for yourselves we don't want to ruin the fun!). If you have only just found the blog hop, go back to JMS to the start. If you have been hopping along you will have come from Lisa and your next stop will be the wonderful Ana.

Crafty Critter Challenge #25

I hope everyone had a good weekend!  We just hung out, it was really nice.  We went to Hanna Park today to try and fish but they just didn't want to be bothered.  I hope within the next couple of weekends we can make it down to Disney before it gets too hot, yuck!

Here is a card I made for my Crafty Critters:)  This is from Melanie:

I know we all like to combine challenges. I see everyone doing it all the time on their blogs. So for this challenge it's going to be a Challenge Combination.

Element 1: Place a flower somewhere on your card. This can be a paper flower, prima flower, stamped flower image, flower dp, etc. As long as there is a flower on your card.

Element 2: Embossing, I want to see embossing. This can be dry embossing with your Cuttlebug or Big Shot or it can be heat embossing.

Element 3: Use SCS sketch SC273.

Supplies:  I used all SU supplies except for the Copics, Stickles, Cuttlebug Folder, and Nestabilities.

Crafty Critter VSD Challenge #5

The 5th challenge was hosted by Jennifer...here's the info:

VSD Challenge # 5...

Hi friends! It's me Jennifer, and I'm bringing our 5th challenge to you. I wanted to do something that all of us could participate in, but put a twist to it. So, I'm going to have you do a Recipe Challenge. Here are the deets!

Use 1 image.

Use 2 ribbons.

Use 3 different layers, at least.

And the twist...use something blue on your card. It doesn't matter what it is, or how much/little, just as long as some blue is on your card.

So here's my card:

I'll be back later to post the deets, Army Wives is coming on:)
